Summer may be ending, but we’re still buzzing about the presentations and performances at our Summer Showcase! Campers and Institute participants shared their projects with the Octavia Project community, including reading original poetry and prose and inviting our audience to play narrative games they’d coded on Twine.
Our Institute Fellows also presented their research on some fascinating topics, like “Everything Ants Were Doing Before Humans Copied Them,” “Propaganda in Bollywood Cinema,” and “The Art of Side Questing (IRL).”

We’re always blown away by the creativity and energy that students bring to the Showcase! And we’re grateful for the many members of our community—like you!—who make our programs possible.
As autumn approaches, we’re gearing up for the launch of our new afterschool program. We’re also expanding mentorship and professional development opportunities for our alumni, and equipping our first-ever office space with the technology our staff requires to support the students we serve.
