We’re sending a new generation of Octavia Project alumni into the world with the close of our summer programs. As we look toward the future, we’re bringing alumni from across our eleven years of programming into our planning processes and recognizing the expertise and leadership they can provide as our organization grows.

This fall, we’re launching our Youth Advisory Board—an exciting initiative that empowers Octavia Project alumni to lead the way as we expand our programs and resources for young women and trans and nonbinary youth.

As we prepare to bring new school-year programming to students in New York City, we’re committed to centering the voices of those who know the Octavia Project best: our alums! Many of our alumni have been part of our summer workshops for multiple years, with a significant number returning as Fellows and Teaching Fellows.

With their invaluable insights into the OP, the Youth Advisory Board will help us shape our school-year programming and consider how we can bring the creativity, joy, and hands-on learning of our dynamic STEAM curriculum into a variety of contexts. The board will also strengthen opportunities for alumni community building and develop resources for alums to connect and network

We’re aiming to raise $6,000 by 8/29 to build our inaugural Youth Advisory Board. Will you donate now to help Octavia Project alums lead the way?

Your contribution will allow us to invest in critical infrastructure for this initiative, including technology, training, and staff time to support Youth Advisory Board members. Help us continue to serve our alumni and amplify their voices with a gift today.
